Bill van Logtenstein started working as a Service Tech with Surge dealer, Piet Verheul Ltd.

Frank Helder and Steve Gare started working as Service Techs and are the companies longest running employees.

Piet Verheul had 10 people on staff including his wife Betty. At this time the majority of service work was done by the three route drivers. Each route driver had his own territory and could reach any of his customers within half an hour. It's hard to believe but at this time there were no cell phones yet and pagers were just starting to come out!

Bill & Glenda van Logtenstein purchased Piet Verheul and moved the shop from Lambeth to a rented facility in Kilworth.

After finishing a parlour install at Burvilla Farms DLS saw the need to design the entire barn for customers. Bill who had previously been sketching layouts by hand started drafting on the computer with Auto-Cad software.

First Surge One Touch System sold to John Garner.

DLS purchased Penta Surge dealership and expanded its milking territory.

DLS purchased land in Komoka and moved the facility to its present location.

Westfalia purchased Surge and DLS became a WestfaliaSurge dealer. At this point the milking territories were redrawn.

DLS sold one of the first Lely robots in North America before WestfaliaSurge announced their future intentions for a milking robot.

DLS partners with Jourdain to bring their world leading stabling products to the Canadian market.

DLS partners with its first major manure equipment supplier, JOZ.

Through the 1990's DLS sold numerous double 10 and double 12 Mag 90 parlours to Dutch immigrants, and the company grew to around 15 employees.

Sold our first two rotary parlours to Jos Versteegen and Gerrit Peeters (both were 24 stalls).

DLS installed milking, manure, and stabling equipment at one of the largest new barns in Canada (Stanton Bros Ltd.).

DLS becomes a Daritech dealer.

DLS constructs one of the first agricultural digesters in Canada.

Sold and installed our first JOZ Tech manure robot.

DLS installed a 50 stall rotary at Walker Farms.

GEA purchased WestfaliaSurge and DLS became a GEA milking dealer

The next generation, Mike, John and Kim van Logtenstein become owners of DLS and take over the day to day operations.

The biogas division is spun out into its own company, DLS Biogas.

DLS sold the first GEA MIone automated milking robot in North America.

This was the last of 5 facility expansions from 1998 - 2012. The purpose of this expansion was to accommodate for our increased Jourdain Stabling stock.

DLS partners with La Buvette to bring their waterers to the North American market.

DLS becomes an authorized GEA Houle manure equipment dealer.

First Daritech Sand Recovery System installed at Ijsseldijk Dairy.

Over 2,000 guests at Markvale Holsteins open house on the one year anniversary of their barn fire.

DLS now has about 50 employees and 28 vehicles.

Completed the first DLS Structure at New Morning Holsteins after founding DLS Structures Inc., a company dedicated to constructing steel-structured dairy barns, midway through 2014.

Installed the first DLS engineered parlour stalls at Bruggert Farms.

Constructed the first major turnkey DLS dairy barn at Kie Farms complete with the DLS Structure, D-24 milking parlour, manure, stabling and ventilation systems.

Constructed the only milking system in North America to milk both holsteins and water buffalo at Koskamp Family Farms.

Over 2,000 guests at Newbrabant Farms open house in Lancaster Ontario! There were guests that travelled to Eastern Ontario from Quebec, the Maritimes and South Western Ontario.

DLS now employs about 60 people with over 30 vehicles in its fleet.

The PDO Outdoor Farm Show bus tour features all DLS projects on the tour: Markvale Holsteins, Hammond Farms, Bolton Manor Holsteins, Kie Farms and Lintfield Farms.

DLS hosts and organizes its first car tour which involved 5 farms, Dairi-Acres, Thomadale Farms, Gordon Roxburgh, Van Engelen Dairy and Four Clover Dairy.

DLS starts up its first GEA Monobox (now R9500) milking robot at Comrie Farms.

Completed the first DLS turnkey cross-ventilated facility at Stonecreek Farms. Three more cross-ventilated facilities were completed within the next year.

The #DLStour19 featured a tour of two DLS Structure tunnel ventilated dairy barns, Guntensperger Dairy and Rolling Lands Farms. Over 1,000 people visited each farm for this open house tour.

DLS Jourdain territory is expanded from the Canadian market to the North American market.

DLS now employs about 90 people with over 50 vehicles in its fleet.

DLS started up two 60 stall stainless steel rotaries at Bloemen Dairy and Orion Holstein.

DLS expands its facility with a new fabrication shop

DLS expands and restructures the milking equipment fabrication product line to be underneath the new company, DLS Manufacturing Inc. The products within the DLS Manufacturing Inc. umbrella include the parlour cabinets, parlour stalls and super structure, crowd gates and sort gates.

DLS and GEA collaborate to initiate an exciting partnership! GEA is now the exclusive provider of the DLS parlour stalls. DLS-manufactured parlour stalls will be GEA branded and can now be sold across North America exclusively through GEA dealers. DLS maintains the direct sale of parlour stalls within their primary milking territories.

DLS expands into Western Canada with the acquisition of GEA dealerships Dairy Land Agro Supply in Saskatchewan and Kneller's Sales & Service in Alberta. There are now two DLS locations in Saskatchewan and one in Alberta to serve dairy farmers in the West!
