COVID-19 Protocols

At DLS, the health of our staff and customers is our top priority. From the start of COVID-19, we have taken the necessary precautions to follow the regulations and guidelines set by both our government and our local public health units. These include:

  • On a daily basis, every employee is required to complete a self-assessment report prior to arriving at work. If the employee shows symptoms of any kind, has travelled outside of Canada in the previous 14 days, or has had close contact with a probable or confirmed case of COVID-19, they fail the self-assessment report. At this point, they will not be allowed to go to work and will be required to have no symptoms and a negative COVID-19 test before returning to work.
  • Masks are required to be worn in all DLS facilities and at customer locations.
  • Employees are to sanitize their hands and work area regularly.
  • Employees are to maintain a 6′ distance from other team members whenever possible (in instances where this is not possible, DLS has stressed to employees to ensure they are wearing a mask).
  • Communication via phone, email, text message or Microsoft Teams chat with other team members has been encouraged as the first means of communication rather than physically interacting.
  • Employees must physically distance themselves during lunch and breaks and space out lunch and break time to facilitate this.
  • Employees are asked to avoid carpooling if at all possible. If employees need to carpool, they are required to wear masks.
  • Employees are to remain in their designated place to work (i.e. warehouse, office, fab shop). Any movement to other areas outside of an employee’s assigned place of work should only occur when it’s absolutely necessary. Employees who usually work at customer sites are asked to have parts delivered to them or communicate with the warehouse team when they arrive for a curbside pickup.

While these precautions may have some inconveniences, we believe we have a great responsibility because of the number of people we interact with daily. We are working to do the best we can to do our part to keep everyone healthy and safe. We are confident if we all stay positive and work together, that eventually, we will all get through this together!
